iMeck October 29, 2020 Newsletter

Updated: Oct 30, 2020

As College Month comes to a close the iMeck family is preparing for National Career Development Month. Every November, schools around the Nation celebrate Career Month with career-related activities, to promote Career Exploration.

Established by the National Career Development Agency the month-long awareness campaign encourages career development professionals to celebrate career development.  The National Career Development Association (NCDA) provides professional development, publications, standards, and advocacy to practitioners and educators who inspire and empower individuals to achieve their career and life goals.

The NCDA as part of its celebrations sponsors a Poetry & Art Contest. Participants of all ages are encouraged to send in poetry or art, based on a specific theme, but always loosely around how they or others inspire career development.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations to this week's Student of the Week Takirah Haye. Takirah is a 10th-grade student at iMeck who has been a star since she stepped foot on our campus. Takirah's teachers describe her as an intelligent student who is reliable and is always engaged in classes. Takirah is an outgoing student who is thorough, self-aware and always willing to lend a helping hand. Not to mention that she is one of the few iMeck students who completed both the initial MYEP training and recently scored an internship in the MYEP Winternship program. We are extremely proud of Takirah. Please keep up the good work and text Ms. Bauguss at (704)269-8684 to arrange a pick-up time to claim your prize!

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT

Teaching at iMeck is truly PERSONAL for Ms. Dula and we are so happy she chose to become apart of the iMeck family.

This week's Teacher of the week is relatively new to the iMeck Family. Ms. Dula joined iMeck in February 2020, just a few weeks prior to our abrupt exit for COVID. However, even in the midst of this pandemic, Ms. Dula has made a mark with her students and has been identified as a teacher leader here at iMeck.

Currently, Ms. Dula teaches Anatomy and Biology, where she makes learning science easy for students. Parents and School leadership can appreciate her strategic delivery of lessons that are personalized and meaningful to students. She has a vibrant personality and nurturing spirit which leads to her creating a great rapport with her students. And whenever she has a moment she loves to dote and brag on her students.

Although Ms. Dula is new to iMeck she has adapted well and is definitely making an impression on the iMeck family.

Ms. Dula thank you for making iMeck your home!

CONGRATULATIONS on your Winternship Offer
