CAREER & COLLEGE PROMISE (Program Overview)

 

Did you know that you can graduate high school with a Certificate to propel your Career like Cosmetology or Medical Assisting? Did you also know that you can earn free College Credits while you are in High School? Career & College Promise (“CCP”) is North Carolina’s dual enrollment program for high school students. This program allows eligible NC high school students to enroll in college classes at North Carolina community colleges through their high school. Students who successfully complete college courses can earn college credit that can transfer to other post-secondary institutions after graduation from high school. 

 

Career & College Promise affords iMeck students the option to pursue dual enrollment classes at Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) and choose from the following pathways:

 

• College Transfer - Designed for students planning to continue their educational career beyond high school to eventually achieve an Associate's or Bachelor's degree at a community college or university.

• Career & Technical Education - Allows students to begin a certification or diploma program in a particular technical field or career area.

 

Career & College Promise offers North Carolina high students options to pursue educational and career goals of their choice using a rigorous yet supportive structure designed to help them become successful.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

 

To apply for the CPCC Career and College Promise (CCP) program iMeck applicants must:

 

• Be a rising junior or senior and on track for graduation

• Hold a minimum 3.0 weighted GPA 

• Be able to provide own transportation to CPCC campus location

• Demonstrate college readiness by achieving the required scores on a single test or by combining test scores in the areas of English, Reading and Mathematics from any of the approved assessments below:
