STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations to this week's student of the week Muntu, Ferreira Paulo. Ferreira is a 12th-grade student iMeck who works very hard to have great grades and to be involved in the iMeck environment.

Ferreira is very athletic and is always willing to lend a helping hand. When Ferreira graduates he wants to pursue a career in Finance. Go for it Ferreira we are so proud of you and we are so excited to have her as a part of our CCA family.

We are so lucky to have Ferreira as a part of the iMeck Family. Congratulations Ferreira.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT

Teaching at iMeck is truly PERSONAL for Mr. Ortiz and we are so happy he is a part of our iMeck family!

This week we want to introduce you to our INCREDIBLE Spanish teacher, Mr Ortiz. He teaches all levels of Spanish at iMECK Academy. Mr Ortiz serves as a teacher leader on the High School Leadership Team and is always quick to lend a hand to co-workers and administrators. He volunteers his time serving as a liaison between school staff and families, translating for our Spanish-speaking families and students. As a native speaker himself, students experience the best of both worlds. Mr Ortiz engages his students in lessons that make the Spanish language come to life! From creating menus to exploring the Hispanic Heritage, students are engaged in relevant lessons that are presented in a fun, light-hearted atmosphere. Students love being in class with Mr Ortiz and his co-workers appreciate his positive energy. He is multi-talented and our go-to for photo shoots and party music. With Mr Ortiz, iMECK Academy is always a fun place to be!

College and Career Cluster of The Week:

The College and Career Cluster of the week are Central Piedmont Community College and Manufacturing Cluster. To learn more read below:

CENTRAL PIEDMONT COMMUNITY COLLEGE

At Central Piedmont, the possibility doesn’t think outside the box. It aims to build a better one. Changing the idea of what a college experience should be. Here, the possibility isn’t just what if, it’s what’s next.

We help students see beyond what is to what could be by providing them with a real-world, affordable, hands-on education that will transform them, change their lives, and impact this community.

Since our founding in 1963, we have evolved into a multi-campus college where students receive a combination of technical and soft skills training from quality faculty who prepare them to enter the workforce and make a difference in their family, business, community, and the world..

Driver's Ed

Students can sign up for Drivers Education beginning Monday, August 31, 2020 via Jordan Driving School.

Jordan Driving School, Charlotte teaches Driver Education safety to students who are at least 14 ½ years old, and who are actively enrolled in a public, private, charter, or licensed home school within Mecklenburg County. Students who attend school outside Mecklenburg County are ineligible to take Driver Education through Jordan Driving School Charlotte and will need to contact the closest public school to the school they attend to inquire about the Driver Education program for that county. Residency in Mecklenburg County does not determine Driver Education eligibility; where the student attends school is the determining factor. Jordan Driving School, Charlotte does not teach private lessons or adult students.

Beginning in August all classes are virtual. If you are interested in taking Drivers Ed you can register online. Payment for your classes can be collected at registration or at...
