Career Month Activities

CMS School Choice Lottery and iMeck Recruitment

Do you know someone who would be a good fit for iMeck Academy? Do you know or have someone who will be an incoming high school student in 2020? CMS School Choice Lottery Dates are Posted and we are gearing up for our recruitment! More information about this process can be found at https://cmschoice.org/ or by contacting Elyse West at anniee.west@cms.k12.nc.us or call us at the school!
Step 1: Enrollment for the 2020-21 school year will open on October 7. You will receive a letter in the mail with your student ID and PIN to use to apply for the lottery. If you are currently enrolled in CMS, you will receive a letter from your school with your student ID and PIN close to the start of the lottery.
Step 2: Visit us during our Open Houses (Dec. 5th 9:00-10:00am or 5-7pm)
Step 3: Apply to iMeck through the CMS School Lottery during the 1st Phase of the Lottery. Our School Number is 343. The lottery will be open from November 4, 2019 – December 13, 2019 at 10:00pm



Join us monthly for Dining for Dollars.
When: Thursday, Nov. 7th from 4:00-8:00 pm
Where: Moe's (8536 University City Blvd)
A portion of all dine-in or take out orders will go to Cochrane Collegiate Academy. Staff and students from iMECK Academy @ Cochrane will be there with information about the CMS Magnet Lottery. Be sure and stop by their table to register for a chance to win the monthly raffle prize!

Game Night and Paint Night is Coming Up on Nov. 19th!
On Tuesday, Nov. 19th students and families can socialize with each other and their teachers to play board games and video games from 2:30-4:30.

Join us for our 1st Paint Night of the year from 5-7! Our fall themed painting will be a great addition to your home!
$3 for Game Night

No More Remind 101: Join Bloomz

Goodbye Remind 101. Hello Bloomz. This year we wil use Bloomz as a means of communication. Parents and Students can get up to the minute communiccation through Bloomz.
Bloomz is a new app that works both on your smartphone as well as on your computer. You will receive quick updates and photos of class activities, be able to access our class calendar, and more. All in a private and secure environment.

We were also honored to have CMS School Board member, Carol Sawyer, spend the afternoon with us at Devonshire Neighborhood Park.

There are several ways your every day habits can provide money for iMeck. When shopping online, log in to smile.amazon.com before making your purchase. Shopping works the same way, you just choose "Parent Booster, Cochrane Collegiate Academy Boosters," from a drop down window under the search window. A percentage of your purchase will be paid to Cochrane Collegiate Academy. If you buy your groceries at Harris Teeter, you can link your VIC card by giving your cashier the number 3861 before your purchase. A percentage of your bill will be donated to Cochrane Collegiate Academy.
Student Technology Information and Updates
All students have access to a school issued Chromebook and Chromebook Charger. If you experience any issues with these devices, please see Mrs. West (Rm 227) or Mrs. Chuk (Media Center) from 6:45-7:15am or during MeckTime.

6) You are ready to use the Chromebook
No Internet at Home??? No Problem!!!
Please see Mrs. West in room 227 or email her at anniee.west@cms.k12.nc.us for information about the Sprint HotSpots. We have access to free HotSpots through the Sprint 1Million Grant. These hotspots guarantee 3 GB of High Speed Data each month to be used to help with school assignments.
