STUDENT SPOTLIGHT

Congratulations to this week's student of the week is Patience Johnson. Patience is a 10th-grade student at iMeck.

Since being at iMeck Patience has proven to be a super-focused student who has maintained great grades and the attitude of an achiever. She's a terrific writer, always comes to zoom, has smart and interesting comments about what we study in all of her classes specifically honors forensics, she works hard to do all her work and makes excellent grades even in a crazy pandemic situation.

Patience teachers describe her as an intelligent, and enthusiastic student, who is respectful and keeps a positive attitude. It is noted that she is a talented anime artist too!

We are so lucky to have Patience as a part of the iMeck Family. Congratulations Patience.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT

Teaching at iMeck is truly PERSONAL for Mr. Howard and we are so happy she is a part of our iMeck family!

This week we want to recognize a truly EXTRAORDINARY educator, Mr Howard. Formerly known to iMECK students as one of our two amazing art teachers, Mr Howard joined the CTE team in January to lead our Graphic Design pathway. He is a super-talented graphic designer with a genuine passion for preparing the next generation of artists. While waiting to find a new digital art teacher, Mr Howard has been juggling TWO SEPARATE CONTENTS and TWO DIFFERENT GROUPS of students since January. He has invested so much of his time, effort and energy into all 150+ students that he is hardly seen outside of his classroom! When you do see him in the hallways, he still displays that gentle demeanor and infectious smile as if it is just another ordinary day on campus. We truly appreciate his dedication to our students. He is an amazing mentor to our artists, and a truly valuable member of our staff.

Driver's Ed

Students can sign up for Drivers Education beginning Monday, August 31, 2020 via Jordan Driving School.

Jordan Driving School, Charlotte teaches Driver Education safety to students who are at least 14 ½ years old, and who are actively enrolled in a public, private, charter, or licensed home school within Mecklenburg County. Students who attend school outside Mecklenburg County are ineligible to take Driver Education through Jordan Driving School Charlotte and will need to contact the closest public school to the school they attend to inquire about the Driver Education program for that county. Residency in Mecklenburg County does not determine Driver Education eligibility; where the student attends school is the determining factor. Jordan Driving School, Charlotte does not teach private lessons or adult students.

Beginning in August all classes are virtual. If you are interested in taking Drivers Ed you can register online. Payment for your classes can be collected at registration or at...
