TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Students and families, please join us as we celebrate our teachers during Teacher Appreciation Week, May 11-15. This amazing group of professionals was given moments notice to leave behind traditional means of face-to-face teaching and embark on a new journey with you into the world of remote learning. Even though students no longer get to personally interact with them on a daily basis, teachers remain hard at work, creating engaging lessons that propel our students toward academic success!
In true Cochrane and iMECK fashion, our teachers not only make sure students have what they need academically but also socially and emotionally, by utilizing Zoom sessions, Instagram stories, phone calls, text messages and emails. They also partner with administrators, counselors, and social workers to ensure the safety and well-being of students and their families.
We want to encourage you all to send a message of appreciation to the teachers who have positively impacted your lives by utilizing social media, text messages, and emails. In a time when we are so isolated from one another, your thoughtful words hold so much power!

A Message From Principal Corn:
The Virtual College and Career Expo

As you may know, The support services team at Cochrane Collegiate Academy/iMeck was gearing up for iMeck's first Career Fair in March. This Career Fair was expected to host companies and colleges from across the of state NC. However, since the inception of COVID-19, we had to cancel this on-campus event.
This was disheartening for us because we like to provide as many opportunities as possible for our students. Therefore, iMEck Career Services would like to host The Virtual College and Career Expo featuring Companies and Colleges of all kinds.
The Virtual College and Career Expo will provide a virtual space where students can view a series of 2-5 minute elevator pitches from companies, programs, and colleges.
Companies will share a 1-2 minute Pitch in one virtual space with students. Upon viewing post students will have the opportunity to submit a request to meet with desired representatives. Once we have a minimum of 5 student requests, I will arrange a Zoom Call for students and representatives to engage.
What: Virtual College/Career Fair
Publish Date: 5/13/2020
The best thing about it is that you can visit it anytime you'd like!

2020-2021 Course Registration

iMeck staff completed 2020-2021 Course Registration for current student on March 13th. This included current 9th, 10th, and 11th grades. Due to an effort to move quickly, student were not able to bring the Registration Cards home to review with a parent / guardian. Rest assured, students will have an opportunity to make necessary changes to their schedules if needed. This can happen as late as August 2020.
If students did not complete their 2020-2021 Course Registration, please reach out to Mrs. Dunn directly to review and select courses needed for next school year.
CPCC Career and College Promise

During registration, Rising Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to sign up for Career and College Promise classes at CPCC for 2020-2021.
Career and College Promise (CCP) gives North Carolina high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to get a "jump-start" and earn college credit toward a two-year or four-year degree while still in high school. Students are dually enrolled in their high school and at Central Piedmont Community College, allowing them to receive both high school and college credit for courses taken through the program. Best of all, CCP classes are tuition-free during the fall, spring and summer semesters.
Rising Juniors and Seniors interested in taking classes at CPCC should complete the following steps.
1. Online Information Session (Required for students and encouraged for parents)
2. Application
