February is CTE Month
Every February, the CTE community celebrates CTE Month® to raise awareness of the role that CTE has in readying our students for careers and college. Led by a variety of CTE groups and spearheaded by the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE), the month is organized around a different theme each year.
In CMS CTE offers you a pathways to that head start. Whether you’re interested in architecture or automobiles, cosmetology or computers – there’s a pathway that will allow you to acquire deep career knowledge, gain industry-recognized certifications and test-drive your career in a summer internship.
Throughout the month the iMeck Leadership Team train all iMeck students on Naviance and to begin Career Action Plans and Portfolio's.

Career and College Promise
Did you know? That students can be licensed in a prior to graduating High School. Career and College Promise (CCP) gives North Carolina high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to get a "jump start" and earn college credit toward a two-year or four-year degree while still in high school. Students are dually enrolled in their high school and at Central Piedmont Community College, allowing them to receive both high school and college credit for courses taken through the program. Best of all, CCP classes are tuition-free during the fall, spring and summer semesters. (Non-CMS students are responsible for student fees and insurance fees).
