Introducing Our New Principal

In June 2020, our Area Superintendent announced Mrs. Paula Cook as CCA's new principal of Cochrane Collegiate Academy. Mrs. Cook comes to CCA as the former Assistant Principal at West Charlotte High School. She has served as a teacher, academic facilitator, assistant principal and interim principal twice at West Charlotte High School.
Mrs. Cook will be reaching out to the school community to share her leadership vision and to gain the perspectives of each of you as she transitions into the principalship at Cochrane Collegiate Academy.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHT
This month, we would like to highlight Mrs Kimberli Darling, the Central 1 Learning Community Teacher of the Year, and iMECK's very own Math 1 teacher. A student-favorite, Mrs Darling works to build strong relationships with her students from the very beginning. She models expectations and scaffolds assignments in order to meet students where they are. Mrs Darling is a reflective practitioner who works to perfect lessons that are challenging yet engaging. Scholars in Mrs Darling's class consistently find success, often exceeding predicted growth. Each morning, it is not unusual to find former students returning for encouraging "mama talks" long after they've completed her course. Teaching at iMECK is truly PERSONAL for Mrs Darling and we are so fortunate to have her call iMECK home.

Support iMeck Academy

There are several ways your every day habits can provide money for CCA & iMeck. This month, we highlight your local Harris Teeter stores. When shopping for your groceries at Harris Teeter, please link your VIC card by giving your cashier the number 3861 before your purchase. A percentage of your total bill will be donated to CCA & iMeck each quarter.

Driver's Ed

Students can sign up for Drivers Education beginning Monday, August 31, 2020 via Jordan Driving School.
Jordan Driving School, Charlotte teaches Driver Education safety to students who are at least 14 ½ years old, and who are actively enrolled in a public, private, charter, or licensed home school within Mecklenburg County. Students who attend school outside Mecklenburg County are ineligible to take Driver Education through Jordan Driving School Charlotte and will need to contact the closest public school to the school they attend to inquire about the Driver Education program for that county. Residency in Mecklenburg County does not determine Driver Education eligibility; where the student attends school is the determining factor. Jordan Driving School, Charlotte does not teach private lessons or adult students.
Beginning in August all classes are virtual. If you are interested in taking Drivers Ed you can register online. Payment for your classes can be collected at registration or at...
