Puzzled About After High School Plans?

Are you puzzled about after high school plans? If so, this month is dedicated to you! Events like True Colors, Career Mapping and Resume Writing are sure ways to find some clarity.
However, you can get a head start by completing the Interest Profiler. The Interest Profiler gives you one option for finding career clusters and occupations that match your interests and preferred activities. Results do not tell you which occupation or cluster you should choose, but they do provide information for determining the kinds of work you might want to explore.
Now that you’ve finished the Interest Profiler and learned about the 16 Career Clusters, you're ready to explore the Career Clusters Matrix to cross-reference Career Clusters with Career Interests. By doing so, you will have a better understanding of the types of jobs pertaining to your selected cluster and interests. Go to the appropriate cluster that best matches your work-related interests and then look at the sample occupations listed under your interest types. For more details check out nccareers.org.
HAPPY CAREER EXPLORING!
Did you know? That students can be licensed in a prior to graduating High School. Career and College Promise (CCP) gives North Carolina high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to get a "jump start" and earn college credit toward a two-year or four-year degree while still in high school. Students are dually enrolled in their high school and at Central Piedmont Community College, allowing them to receive both high school and college credit for courses taken through the program. Best of all, CCP classes are tuition-free during the fall, spring and summer semesters. (Non-CMS students are responsible for student fees and insurance fees).
